Center for Global Engagement Scholarship Application (Summer/Fall)
You have selected that you are potentially interested in studying abroad. If you are interested, complete this application to be considered for study abroad scholarships. If you are not interested, then you may skip this application.
To apply for a study abroad scholarship, you should have applied or been accepted to a study abroad program.

Students will be considered for all scholarships that they meet the minimum criteria for by completing this application.
Students must submit a FAFSA to be eligible for these scholarships. You must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Students who do not meet the citizenship or eligible non-citizenship criteria for the FAFSA may still be eligible for need-based scholarships. After completing the Boise State Scholarship Application, complete the Federal Student Aid Estimator and then email the Federal Student Aid Estimator results to scholarships@boisestate.edu, please be sure to include your student ID number.
Dates and Deadlines:
Summer 2025 and Fall 2025: Opens 12/01/2024 and closes 04/15/2025
Spring 2026: Opens 09/01/2025 and closes 10/15/2025
To Apply:
You must be studying abroad on a program approved by Global Learning.
Have at least a minimum 2.8 cumulative GPA and be in good academic standing at Boise State University.
Scholarships Offered:
Boise State USAC
Global Learning receives scholarship funding from USAC to award to Boise State students participating in their programs. Applicants who are participating in a USAC program may be considered to receive this scholarship. This award will be deducted from the balance of fees owed to USAC. The average award is $500 – $1,500 per person.
Ansotegui-Fereday Memorial
For students that qualify and are selected scholarships in the range of $500 – $1,500.
In order to be eligible for this scholarship students must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Wish to further their experiences in the Basque culture
- Plan to enroll either part-time (6 undergraduate credits; 5 graduate credits) or full-time (12 undergraduate credits; 9 graduate credits)
ETO
Several scholarship awards of $500 – $3,000
In order to be eligible for this scholarship students must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum 2.5 GPA
- Pursuing any major but interested in Asian Studies
- Be enrolled in at least 1 credit each semester of the award
- Students must be studying at sites in Asia, Australia, or New Zealand
- Demonstrate financial need. We can determine your financial need by the results of your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Sandra Eggers Memorial
The average award is $1500 per person.
In order to be eligible for this scholarship students must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Be a sophomore, junior, or senior
- Participating in a study abroad program
- Plan to enroll either part-time (6 undergraduate credits) or full-time (12 undergraduate credits)
- Demonstrate financial need. We can determine your financial need by the results of your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Global Learning Scholarship Opportunities:
- GL scholarship awards are available for approved programs and require the completion of service hours promoting study abroad upon return to the Boise State campus. The average award is $500 – $1,500.
Pat & Eloise Bieter Memorial Studies Abroad Scholarship for History
In order to be eligible for this scholarship students must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum 3.20 GPA
- Pursuing a History major
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior
- Full-time enrollment (12 undergraduate credits)
- Plan to study abroad through university-recognized studies abroad programs
- Demonstrate financial need per the federal financial aid rules. We can determine your financial need by the results of your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Patricia M. Frankle Endowed Scholarship
In order to be eligible for this scholarship students must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum 3.00 GPA
- Be part of the University Studies Abroad Consortium
- Priority consideration is given to students pursuing a business major
- Be enrolled full-time (12 undergraduate credits, 9 graduate credits)
