Rey Blaise Baldazo Memorial Scholarship

The Rey Blaise Baldazo Memorial Scholarship was established in 1986 in memory of the late Rey Blaise Baldazo. Rey passed away at only 18 years of age. He helped his mother each summer at their food booths at Art in the Park and Streets for People. He held a strong belief that supporting education and being involved in your community were very important endeavors. While doing all this he still found time to be the editor of his high school newspaper and an active saxophone band member.

In order to be eligible for this scholarship students must meet the following criteria:

  • Plan to enroll full-time (12 undergraduate credits, 9 graduate credits)
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Meridian High School students who participated in school newspaper work and instrumental musical group
