Raymond Mullenax Social Work Endowed Scholarship

The Raymond Mullenax Social Work Endowed Scholarship was established in 2018. Having observed the growth and advancement of Boise State University, the Donor wishes to pay his generosity forward by encouraging, elevating, and supporting continued expansion and heightened sophistication of Social Work programs, research, and academic scholarship. Specifically, the Donor has chosen to support Master of Social Work students who are enrolled in the Boise State main campus MSW program.

The Donor created this scholarship as a way to give back to students seeking to make a difference with clients through the profession of social work. Raymond graduated from Boise State School of Social Work in 1999 and was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to attend graduate school through the combined assistance of others and through his own initiative. He completed his MSW degree and entered the profession of social work, which has profoundly impacted his life. His MSW degree gave him the opportunity to work with, and learn from, many clients and students in a variety of different social work roles as case manager, clinician and as an educator. The Donor’s goal throughout graduate college was to complete his MSW so that he could work as a professional social worker. To complete this goal, it required a commitment to his education. By providing financial assistance through this scholarship, he hopes to assist other MSW students in their pursuit of education and future careers as a social worker. For Raymond, it is an honor every day to work in the profession of social work, and as a faculty member at Boise State, he wanted to give back to students in a similar way that others gave back to him during the pursuit of his education.
