Wenden and Laura Waite Education Scholarship

The Wenden and Laura Waite Education Scholarship was established in 1997 by Wenden and Laura Waite. Wenden came to Boise State in 1976 as an education professor and when he retired in 2004 he was serving as the director of the Office of College School Partnerships and Field Experiences. He has been involved in elementary and special education, helping to develop the first computer lab in the College of Education and serving as area coordinator of special education and department chair for Elementary Education and Specialize Studies. He served as state president of the Council for Exceptional Children, a board member of Collaborative Assistance for Professional Educators, and a consultant to the Association for Retarded Citizens, Community Partners and Tomorrow’s Hope. Wenden was chosen Teacher of the Year by the state Association for Retarded Citizens.
