Margie Van Vooren Leadership Development Scholarship

The Margie Van Vooren Scholarship for Student Leadership Development was established in 2005 in honor of the late Margie Van Vooren. Margie battled adversity for much of her life and through those challenges gained a selfless passion for helping others, and a perspective on living life that bubbled over to those she came in contact with. Margie came to Boise State in 1985 and stayed for 20 years. She was involved in the Women’s Center, Children’s Center, Cultural Center, Minority Services, Disability Services, Tutorial Services, Disabilities Services, and the Student Leadership Program. Margie was named as a Woman Making History, received the Tribute to Women in Industry Award, the OCNORB Award, and the Fred Turner Award.
