Mac and Kay McCurry Scholarship
The Mac and Kay McCurry Scholarship was established in 2010 in memory of Mac and Kay McCurry by their three daughters, Janis McCurry, Rebecca Strong and Linda Groom. Mac and Kay McCurry were native Boiseans and loyal Boise State fans. Both attended Boise Junior College and believed that young people should have the chance to go as far in school as they wanted. This is why the McCurry family started the scholarship for those students who might not have the opportunity to apply for other academic scholarships. Mac was a proud member of the Survivors of Wake, Guam, & Cavite, a gutsy group of civilians employed by Morrison Knudsen who were captured by the Japanese and interred in POW camps for 44 months during WWII. Kay enjoyed working, but loved retirement even more because she could be active in civic groups, play bridge, and go to Bronco football and basketball games.
