John W. Mitchell COBE Scholarship Fund

John W. Mitchell of Lake Oswego, Oregon has graciously established an endowed scholarship for students majoring in Economics or other Business majors at Boise State University’s College of Business and Economics in the fall of 2012. John was a Professor of Economics at Boise State from 1970 to 1983. According to the Boise State 25th Anniversary issue of Focus Magazine, John was considered one of Boise State’s most dynamic professors known for his charisma in the classroom and his economic forecasting expertise. When people wanted to know what the financial future held, he provided the answers. In 1973 his teaching skills were recognized when he received the University’s Best Educator Award during the homecoming football game.
