John D. & Bertha C. Case Education Scholarship
The John D. & Bertha C. Case Education Scholarship was established in 1987 in memory of John and Bertha Case. Bertha took her apprenticeship training as a milliner in St. Paul, Minnesota before coming to Boise after accepting a job at Brookover’s in the millinery department. She later ran her own business for a number of years. After running her own business she took over the hat department at The Mode. Her hats adorned the heads of many notables in Boise. She married John Case in 1929 and following his death in 1948 she returned to The Mode’s millinery department, retiring at the age of 70.
