Jamie Paul Confer Memorial Scholarship
The Jamie Paul Confer Memorial Scholarship was established in 2000 by retired Boise State employee Mary Carter-Hepworth in memory of her late son Jamie Paul Confer. Jamie was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer at the age of 16, and then he went into remission. Not long after, the cancer returned and exhausted from his chemotherapy and radiation regimen and susceptible to infection, he was unable to work and had to drop out of college. In 2000, at the age of 23, he passed away. His parents established this scholarship to provide financial aid for Boise State students who are cancer survivors.
