Francis W. and Louise Humphries Memorial Scholarship

The Francis W. and Louise Humphries Memorial Scholarship was established in 2004 by the late Louise Humphries in honor of her late husband Francis. Louise and Francis met one night while Louise was at work as a telephone operator at Camp Chaffee Army base in Fort Smith. She overheard a co-worker speaking with a soldier from California where she had recently moved from and wanted to talk to him. Three months later the two were married. After Francis got out of the Army he went to work for the family business, Humphries Realty Company. Louise is remembered as a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother as well as a generous, gracious and giving lady to all who knew her.
