Bong Shin Memorial Scholarship
The Bong Shin Memorial Scholarship was established in 1992 in honor of the late Bong Shin. In 1983 Bong came to Boise State as a professor of management and quickly moved up to become the chairman of the department. He then served as associate dean from 1989 until he was named dean of the College of Business in 1992. Bong played a major role in national accreditation of the college, developed several new degree programs and helped establish the Idaho Business and Economic Development Center. He received awards for his teaching, served on several university and community committees and published several research articles. It is said that his administrative style inspired people to do their best.
